Meet Eleanor and Henry, twins who are turning 2 this month! Eleanor and Henry take classes with mom, Laura, and sometimes Nanna (pictured) or Dad. This spring is their family's first semester experiencing Music Together!
Glenda: We're now 4 weeks into Eleanor and Henry's first semester of Music Together as Thursday classes started a week later. What do you see happening so far?
Laura: I see their interest in music growing. When I mentioned at the table that we were going to music class today, they started singing LA, LA, LA! They're both really quick to copy me now when I sing. Eleanor and Henry were born six weeks early so every sign of growth is a reason to celebrate! Their Occupational Therapists are so happy with the progress they're making now, and they rejoice right along with us in the developmental milestones cultivated in this class!
Glenda: Do Eleanor and Henry seem to have a favorite Music Together song, and if so, how do they communicate that to you?
Laura: They both love the drum song we sang today. And anything with scarves like Cloud Song is special to them. They have gentle spirits, and love moving with the scarves to that lovely song. (Laura's family won the raffle that included scarves which were on their birthday gift list! God is so good!)
Glenda: Is there a favorite musical moment from class you'd like to share?
Laura: I think it means a lot to them to know what to do in class. So when it's time for the lullaby they pretend to sleep. They know just what is expected, and are proud of themselves as we sing that every week. We all have huge smiles during that, too!
Glenda: What would you tell a friend about the Music Together program?
Laura: I think that especially for stay at home moms, it's a great experience for the children to learn classroom expectations. I appreciate the socialization with different age groups. The younger ones can watch the older kids to know what to do.
Glenda: Thank you so much, Laura, for sharing your thoughts and experiences in music class! We're so glad your family decided to join us this semester!

ICYMI: Thinking about summer yet? Absolutely no pressure, but we'd like to know about it if you're interested in a summer class (or a new type of class called Rhythm Kids). The survey will be available through May 16.
Summer & New Class Interest Survey (Summer session runs for six weeks - priced per family.)

As always, reach out with any questions or concerns. We love hearing from you, especially what you hear from your littles or from other family members! Samantha shared how her husband had a Bim Bam ear worm last week and was singing it! There was a lot of singing from the kids this week in classes, too! Those I remembered to jot down notes on were Gloria singing lots of phrase endings, Emily singing quietly throughout a song, and Lochlan echoing the tonal patterns. Clark was beating in time for quite a long stretch on the big gathering durm. Little Emmett's eyes are so focused and engaged during class. You can see in the pictures that he, Cyrus, Nolan, and Alice are soaking it in and storing it all up for later! In a blurry pic of Alice, you can see her keeping time with her arms as she watches Gina! Kevin was just like they are now a few months ago, but he's rocking in time and engaging in lots of new ways every day! What a joy it is to experience this with you all! And what a great way to grow having fun making beautiful music together with friends and family! And one last thing, what nice voices you grownups have! Thanks for sharing your beautiful singing with us each week!
Musically yours,
