Hello Everybody and Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day!
As we move into week two, you may notice your children absolutely enthralled with the Hello and Goodbye Songs—even those who've been with us for several semesters light up hearing these familiar songs again sung by their friends.
I've had several conversations this week with families around the music of Music Together, and Gina and I often talk about how deeply we appreciate its richness and the way it goes straight to the heart of both children and their caregivers. Mari, a new family in our Generations class shared that they discovered the program simply by listening to the music on Spotify! We really do live in an amazing world, full of delightful surprises.
Brianne—who, along with her son Greyson, attends both the Monday Generations class and the Wednesday Mixed Ages class—mentioned a recurring phenomemom I've experienced myself: as we get to know each new collection in the nine-semester cycle, it feels like this one must be our absolute favorite... and then the following semester arrives, and new songs jump right into your heart and become just as special.
It's so true. And as Gina often points out, no other program is grounded in Music Learning Theory, developed by Edwin Gordon, quite the way Music Together is. We're truly delighted to bring this special program—with its beautiful, meaningful music—to you each week.
Below are a few tips to help you dive deeply into the music we will sing and dance to together this semester. We can't wait to see you this week!
